On February 14th 2022 Mr Kharim Mchatta was interviewed by BBC News Swahili on online romance scams based on the Netflix show Tinder Swindler which has been trending lately all over the internet. Mr Mchatta managed to give some insights on how people could protect themselves from scammers while on dating apps.
Since the session was conducted on a valentine’s day, BBC News Swahili saw it as an opportunity to provide awareness to the general public so that people can be on alert and not to fall victim to such trickeries conducted by scammers.
